Himalayas

In these hills, Nature's hospitality eclipses all men can ever do. The enchanting beauties of the Himalayas, their bracing climate and the soothing green that envelope you leaves nothing more to be desired. I wonder whether the scenery of these hills and the climate are to be surpassed, if qualified, by any of the beauty spots of the world. -- Mahatma Gandhi

The beauty of the Himalayas is enchanting. Many times people who visit there are so mesmerized by the beauty and charm of the Himalayas that they never want to leave.  Himalayas are the best place to plan a vacation to escape the heat of the summers. With many beautiful rivers, glaciers, peaks, sanctuaries and vegetation, the scenic beauty of the Himalayas cannot be compared to any other place in the world. The hill stations at the Himalayas are gateways to bewitching beauty and exotic experience.

Those of us who enjoy trekking can find wonderful mountains to trek on. Trekking in the Himalayas gives a feeling of being at the top of the world because these are the highest mountain ranges in the world. Many trekking tours are organised all the time. Indian geographic riches offer many possibilities of trekking expeditions, of which Himalayan foothills are simply ideal for trekking tours. Besides, the majestic Himalayas, Garhwal and Kumaon regions of Uttaranchal, Chamba and Manali in Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh and Zanskar in Jammu and Kashmir, Darjeeling in West Bengal, Yuksam in Sikkim, and Leh in Ladakh are few other prominent trekking expeditions in India. India offers a wholesome variety of trekking trails that promise to leave the trekkers mesmerized with the experience of the unexplored nature trails.

There are many beautiful lakes by which a person would love to go camping. Lake Chandratal is one of them.  Mountains of scree overlook the lake on one side, and a magnificent cirque presents a view on the other. The name of the lake originates from its crescent shape.

High in the Himalayan ranges of Garhwal hills of Uttaranchal lies the enchanted Valley of Flowers. Here flowerful pastures with clear running streams are set against silver birches and shining snow peaks. Dew lies thick on the flowers, birds sing in the surrounding forest and the air is pure and charged with floral smells.
Many rivers originate from the Himalayas. One of these is Ganga which originates from the Gangotri glacier. There are many roads that are by the river side that make the drives through Himalayas a beautiful experience.

Traveling to the Himalayas is an experience you will never forget and you will keep coming back for more!
